Families
Join us for a teen-led community day of action to help rescue, replant, and remove waste from around our Eastside Branch. Start your day by removing litter and waste from around the Eastside Branch then put on your maker hats and build a bird house to help increase the number of animal homes in your neighborhood! Finish the day by planting and learning about pollinator and native plants to support the different species living in our area and help beautify the outdoors spaces around the Eastside Branch.
NOTE: this event will take place rain or shine. Please dress for the weather.
For families with children of all ages. Drop-in.
About the Project
A group of teens from the WPL Teen Events Team recognized the need for environmental literacy opportunities at the library and have planned a community day of action at our Eastside Branch focused on planting pollinator plants, enhancing wildlife, and removing litter. To make this day possible, the teens and WPL staff worked together to secure a grant from the Roots and Shoots program from the Jane Goodall Institute, which is focused on inspiring and equipping the next generation of conservation leaders.
