About the Program

Come visit us at the Wonders of Winter Light Festival in Waterloo Park. We'll be in the old Log Cabin for winter-themed crafts and stories, plus you'll get to check out the inside of the historic Log Cabin which is the oldest standing school in the Region of Waterloo and the oldest known log house in Ontario.

This is a drop-in event for families with children of all ages.

Presented in partnership with Wonders of Winter.

About Wonders of Winter

In 1993, Bill Weiler, a creative citizen of Waterloo, asked for a loan from the City of Waterloo to install an underground electrical service in Waterloo Park to power the first 5000 lights in imaginative displays.

The loan has since been repaid and now a number of local service clubs and generous citizens have taken on the volunteer task of getting sponsors, designing displays, repairing old displays, building and maintaining the underground services, turning the lights on and off every night and generally maintaining all the light displays throughout the Festival of Lights.
