For Teens and Adults
Come watch the powerful and thought-provoking film, Don't Be Nice, an emotional and inspiring documentary that dives deep into issues of race, gender, identity, and sexual politics in America today. It’s more than just a competition documentary—it’s also a moving look at a group of poets working through real and difficult conversations in a writer's workshop, all while trying to make a meaningful impact through their words.
This screening is especially for those who are interested in poetry and open to exploring complex societal topics, including police brutality, the lived experiences of Black communities, and the challenges faced by the racialized 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
We’ll have popcorn available to enjoy and after the film, we’ll host a short, participant-led discussion where you can share your thoughts or just listen in.
Everyone is welcome—bring your curiosity and your voice.
