About the Event
Waterloo Public Library invites community members to its annual Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration, where families and friends can experience the richness of Chinese culture through live performances, hands-on activities, and a joyful afternoon of community connection.
The celebration will feature an exciting lineup of performances by local musicians, dancers, and singers, along with Tai Chi demonstrations, poetry recitations, a children's stage performance, martial arts demonstrations, and many other cultural presentations.
In addition to the stage performances, visitors can enjoy a variety of interactive activities throughout the event, including hands-on crafts, puzzles, prize draws, and community information booths.
Guests will also have the opportunity to sample traditional mooncakes while celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival—a cherished holiday that symbolizes family reunion, togetherness, and good fortune.
The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the most important traditional celebrations in Chinese culture, representing reunion, gratitude, and a bountiful harvest. More than a festive celebration, this event offers a wonderful opportunity to learn about Chinese traditions, experience the diversity of our community, and foster cross-cultural understanding.
Whether you are celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival for the first time or continuing a long-standing tradition, everyone is welcome to join Waterloo Public Library in celebrating this special occasion and sharing in the spirit of community, culture, and togetherness.
Presented in partnership with Red Maple Senior Association, Waterloo Region Chinese Canadian Association (WCCA), EDSS Music Group, UW Concert Band Club, UW Warriors Band, Shamuon Generation of Martial Arts.
