Winter is the perfect season for curling up with a good book. Authors and publishers know this, and there are many new cozy books coming out in Winter 2027. Grab a mug of hot chocolate or tea, cookies, your coziest sweater, and come to this Book Chat to learn about the newest cozy featured reads. We'll chat about cozy mysteries, cozy (non-spicy) romance, and other upcoming books that inspire us to get comfortable and settle in for a good read. Warm drinks and snacks will be provided.
If you love reading, discussing books, and discovering new titles, Book Chats is the perfect place for you. This series offers a welcoming space to explore a variety of genres, revisit old favourites, and hear fresh recommendations from fellow readers and WPL staff. Participate however feels comfortable - whether you read the suggested titles ahead of time and join the conversation, or simply listen and gather ideas for your next great read. Along the way, you’ll learn tips for finding books you’ll love, discover read-alike strategies, and explore special topics such as book awards and trending titles.

Located on the west side of Waterloo, the John M. Harper Branch shares a building with the Stork Family YMCA. It features soaring ceilings, dedicated study space (including 3 bookable study rooms), a large Community Room and an outdoor courtyard.
