The Immigration Partnership and partner organizations are hosting the 2023 Waterloo Region Migration Film Festival (#WRMigFest) from December 1 to 18 (International Migrants Day). The goal of the Festival is to pave the way for greater discussion around migration and relocation, by creating safe spaces for respectful interaction and dialogues.
As part of the festival, WPL will be screening ‘Peace by Chocolate.’ The film is based on the true story of the Hadhads, a family from Syria who moved to Canada as refugees settling in Antigonish, Nova Scotia and establishing the Peace by Chocolate artisanal chocolate shop. Join us for the screening and a conversation afterward.
Located on the west side of Waterloo, the John M. Harper Branch shares a building with the Stork Family YMCA. It features soaring ceilings, dedicated study space (including 3 bookable study rooms), a large Community Room and an outdoor courtyard.
